Are We There Yet?

Hey girl leave this all behind you Cause you've got the time and lack of common sense You carved the map right onto your skin Try to see this through, don't look back until the end Hey girl don't forget the future Cause these times, these times are just a mess Well isn't it isn't so strange Tune out those thoughts and just exist Let's take look at what they're offering Dusty rooms filled with nothing Only ghost and useless things Stacked in piles tall as buildings Dancing wildly round the cold blue flames Keep dancing until you lose yourself Oh Orpheus strum your lyre, But don't look back, cause then we can't follow Hey girl don't trust my blindly Change these sad times, make them better If what they say is true, that nothing lasts forever Remember to make some room in your heart Just take your time, then go Have all the boys grown up and their beauty faded Your still young, but you act so old Hey girl what now, who will you run to Let's take look at what they're offering Dusty rooms filled with nothing Only ghost and useless things Stacked in piles tall as buildings Dancing wildly round the cold blue flames Keep dancing until you lose yourself Oh Orpheus strum your lyre, But don't look back, cause then we can't follow

You're whistling on a long lost song While you retrace our steps back home Through a landscape filled with ghosts of men. Why aren't you dead yet, they all yell Oh let's go my first love, back to the town where we were born Where all the broken hearted people roam. Reconnect Reconnect me To your lines and your wires Connect Connect me To your heart Reconnect Reconnect me To your roots and your branches Connect Connect me To your heart In this waste land I'll be king of nought I'll knight you You'll be my Lancelot Oh let's go my sweet beau Back to our meadow of gold Are we there yet, the kids yell Reconnect Reconnect me To your lines and your wires Connect Connect me To your heart Reconnect Reconnect me To your roots and your branches Connect Connect me To your heart

With a gilded tongue I speak I'll leave it up to you to figure out What's true or false here And what's fake or real Give me some peace of mind And I'll share the last piece with you who As we both rewind back to a calmer state of mind. Lets move somewhere else Slip into hiding Then watch the world as it trembles for our touch. You know I'll linger A little longer than I should I'll leave you hanging Suspended in mid air And misunderstood Daydream deceiver There's some questions you can't ask we already know all the answers It's time to shed some skin And crawl out of our cocoons Locked in a dance I let your fists caress my face It won't get better But we can pretend That we still give a damn I keep wondering what's your reason to be here Let's blame someone else There's no point trying I never wanted to be your white knight Honestly You know I'll linger A little longer than I should I'll leave you hanging Suspended in mid air And misunderstood Daydream deceiver There's some questions you can't ask We already know all the answers You know I'll linger A little longer than I should I'll leave you hanging Suspended in mid air And misunderstood Daydream deceiver There's some questions you can't ask We already know all the answers Daydream deceiver (Oh Jean) Daydream deceiver (Oh Jean) Daydream deceiver (Oh Jean) Daydream deceiver (Oh Jean)

lyrics by Stephen Wort Every last decision that you've ever ever made Every single syllable to fierce escape your lips Every path you've followed, every game you've ever played Every choice you've chosen in each moment unto this Every little footstep your intrepid feet have taken Each time you acceded, every time that you refused Every opportunity, commanded or forsaken Every moment wasted, and each one you wisely used Every last encounter, the benign and the malignant Every day you've ruined, and each one you've made anew Every smile you've drawn and all who stormed away indignant Every life you've touched and all that did the same to you Every thought that crossed your mind and every word you've spoken Each moment of weakness, every time that you were strong Every ( sacred) hour you've slept and each second you've woken Every last decision whether proven right or wrong Has eventually led to you Being here Has eventually led to you Being here Listening to this song

It's getting late and it's becoming dark How to mend a broken heart Throw the dice go back to start, don't end up in jail If you can't create, just imitate Then watch it slowly fall apart Through our kaleidoscopic eyes, that Sir Brewster made Wishful thinking Won't get you out of here And you know that Wishful thinking Won't make it easier Anytime now Wishful thinking Won't make this disappear And you hope that Wishful thinking Will bring you anywhere

The birds and trees, they sing for me They tell tall tales I can't believe But I will not be fooled There's no pleasure in being called back By some sirens song That laments you ever being born I found a spot under the highest trees Somewhere no one can find me And then I take of my shoes There is no sound but the whistling wind And it asks no questions And I give no reply Watching the clouds and the years roll by Under the canopy I settled for this empty spot I heard a voice speak out my name And that the voice was mine This forest path leads nowhere but further in To a fever dream from which I can't escape I found a spot under the highest trees Somewhere no one can find me And then I take of my shoes There is no sound but the whistling wind And it asks no questions And I give no reply Watching the clouds and the years roll by Under the canopy I found a spot under the highest trees Somewhere no one can find me And then I take of my shoes There is no sound but the whistling wind And it asks no questions And I give no reply Watching the clouds and the years roll by Under the sea of trees

lyrics by Susan Frampton and Tim Echols A captured tale Of far away And far awhen Come to us today The day before tomorrow dawned With promise in the sunrise Gentile breezes whispered “Up and at em peeps keep trying” “Up and at em peeps keep trying” When in the distance rainbow clouds Evoked wild thunderous echoes “Be sure to try the marshmallows" You must get lost to be found Yeah you must get lost to be found Days were weaved together Without second, minute or hour No cause to engage memory No reason to wonder why

Stumble on your feet, they're calling us form distant shores, so far away Sovereign thoughts turn us to salt columns caving in on your floor Oh there's no magic in them Malawi albino bones Oh poisoned by the gold Smoke signals from the great beyond Run with the wind, you're running swiftly in towards the dream of being free No formula, I didn't know how we could miss the shot when our prey appeared Oh there's no magic in them Malawi albino bones Oh poisoned by the gold Smoke signals from the great beyond You call out in your sleep, but don't spell his name, cause each syllable a cut that bleeds These jealous thoughts will not recede, I'm caving in on your floor Oh there's no magic in them Malawi albino bones Oh poisoned by the gold Smoke signals from the great beyond

35 more years to go Still it feels like we're new born In-between your pondering You beat yourself into the ground We looked around But there's no answers under the sun The outcome was rigged from the start You might feel like you belong In the scrapheap with the rest your failures But just ignore the warning signs we still feel terrible, but thank you for asking Don't buy into their dream You will not fit in All the love you gave them Should amount to something Their gravity pull us in 50 % of nothing 17 light years to go Still we don't know where we're heading In between knock off dreams We try to pass of as the living Wasting time as we dry up in the sun don't give in to their worst expectations You might feel like you were born To walk slowly through all the seasons Please believe in something else Cause you're more than the parts that you're missing. Don't buy into their dream You will not fit in All the love you gave them Should amount to something Their gravity pull us in 50 % of nothing

about

Debut album of Mt. Mélodie

Multi instrumentalist Thomas Meidell knows a thing or two about collaborating. As Mt. Mélodie, he makes rock music infused with psychedelic rock, synth-pop and folk influences, joined in the studio by a revolving cast of friends and musicians.
Outside Mt. Mélodie, he’s been part of quite a few Norwegian bands, Team Me, Ludvig Moon, The Samuel Jackson Five, and his time in these acts has refined his songwriting talent. He’s also among the many founding members of the Metronomicon Audio collective, which consists of acts like Center of the Universe, Now We've Got Member, Koppen and S.L.Y.C.

"The minute you hear Only Ghosts and Useless Things from Mt. Mélodie you’ll want to get up and dance.. Effortlessly catchy guitar pop song with a delicious instrumental outro reminiscent of Deerhunter (imho)." superworldindietunes.com

"Daydream Deceiver is a catchy, tuneful romp through the various ages fusing 1980’s indie and 1960’s baroque pop". recordsilike.co.uk

"The breakdown begins with all but the song’s drums and bass disappearing; these elements enter a thick fog through which the bass gradually rises and the electric lead guitar reemerges. The sequence is haunting, destabilizing, and unsettling. It sounds like both a daydream and a deceiver, just as communal and mysterious as Meidell and friends would have it" nordicspotlight.com
